The Holland family seemed like a happy household, with regular barbecues, frequent get togethers with extended family members.

However, behind the facade was a family who indulge in gruesome acts of sexual abuse involving their own children, where Holland with parts of his extended family, along with his wife and some of her family members were involved in ‘parties’ in which children as young as nine were sexually abused the Daily Mail reported.

One prosecutor says that the pedophile ring was the product of generations of incestuous relations and that abusers had gone on to become pedophiles themselves in a cycle that lasted generations until authorities finally put an end to the incentuous clan.

Holland worked as a Contractor. His neighbors said he was thought of as a charming and hard-working family man, along with his wife Wendy 35 and their son Donnie Jr.

He and his family lived in a three-bedroom one storey house in Fish River, a rural community about an hour’s drive from Mobile Alabama.

The two-acre property is surrounded by woodland and is close to a nearby river.

The residents closeby, include a lawyer and other professionals who would often noticed frequent family parties taking place that seemed innocent.

His Nephew Andrew Aikin, 23, managed to escape the abuse, told MailOnline: ‘Donnie was the cool uncle.

‘We used to have huge barbecues. Donnie would invite us all out there.
‘Us kids would to swimming and tubing and there were jet-skis. We had a lot of fun.’

However in February 2012, the phoney image began unravel and within a few short months Holland would be dead and a terrible trail of abuse would begin to be revealed.

The family silence first broke in March 2012.

According to Mail Online, The brother of Holland’s wife, then 42-year-old Randall Scott Wood, admitted to police he had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old family member and was in fact being abused by others.

His admission shocked police and as an investigation ensued, investigators began to understand what they were dealing with.

Wood’s testimony against a relative exposed the truth of the gruesome lifestyle taking place in the home of Donnie Holland.

His testimony would reveal the truth of the family barbecues. How the family members, including Fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters would end the parties by engaging in group sex with children as little as 4-years-old.

From the earliest of ages, the adults would indoctrinate the youngest of children by having them sit on the bed and watch children a bit older be sexually abused. This would take place until they were deemed old enough to take part.

Mobile Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson told MailOnline: ‘What is so disturbing with this case is that we have so many people involved.
‘They led a swinger’s lifestyle.

They would engage in adult group sex but Donnie Holland would involve the children frequently.

‘There were children who were 14 or 15 years old which may have appeared to be young adults but there also were children who were clearly prepubescent – as young as nine years old.’

She added: ‘They barbecued a lot. They would have parties and then they would end up in bed together.

‘Some of the kids’ earliest memories at three or four years old are of abuse.

‘Some of the women used sex toys on the kids to get them ready for sex. It was a very important thing within the family. They put an enormous effort in to get the children ready. It was very thought out.

‘The mom, the aunt and children would get into bed and Donnie would tell them what to do.’
Donnie would often film the sex scenes to create pornographic movies.

The children’s friends were also abused during sleep-overs at the other typical homes in a quiet district of Mobile, an affluent City close to Alabama’s Gulf Coast, where sex-ring members lived.

While the principal predators mostly worked in construction some of their ‘guests’ held down respectable class jobs.

Mobile Assistant DA Nicki Patterson said: ‘They would find other individuals, middle class people with good jobs to take part in their sex parties from Craig’s List.’

By May 2012, detectives had a sufficiently clear idea of what was happening that they arranged to interview Donnie.

But the night before he was due to be interviewed by detectives – the 30th – he drove into the Alabama countryside with his niece Brittney Wood with whom he had had a long-standing sexual relationship.

Brittney, 19, who had a two-year-old daughter, has not been seen since. Investigators believe she was murdered.

Holland was discovered the following day with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. He died later in hospital.

Detectives say Brittney exchanged messages on Facebook on May 27, 2012, with one of the alleged victims, in which abuse was discussed.

After Brittney asked ‘how are you? Tell me what’s going on. I don’t know what’s true and what you said,’ the victim claimed to have been raped by Randall Scott Wood, Dustin Kent, and Donald Holland.

‘I love you, I’m sorry,’ Brittney replied.

The victim wrote more messages to Brittney on May 28 and May 30, but did not receive a response.
But within weeks of her disappearance and Donnie’s death, a series of his relatives were arrested and charged.

Randall Scott Wood was among the first to be charged, with incest, and second degree sexual abuse and sodomy. Many more charges followed – and next month Donnie’s wife will go on trial.

Prosecutors say that they believe Donnie’s marriage to Wood created the ‘perfect storm’ of uniting two families with a history of incest and child abuse.

District Attorney Teresa Heinz, who has successfully secured the jury conviction of one sex-ring member and will lead the prosecution of Wendy, told MailOnline: ‘It’s a bizarre situation because you have all these family members.

‘I have seven charged defendants and I have investigations pending on many more.
‘This case is constantly evolving. We know there are more victims.’

As details of the sex ring emerged Brittney’s mother Chessie Wood was among those arrested on child abuse charges. The children have all since been taken to places of safety.

Last month close family friend William ‘Billy’ Brownlee was convicted of four counts of child abuse. He faces up to 20 years in jail when he is sentenced in January.

Donnie Holland’s brothers-in-law Randall Scott Wood and Dustin Kent, and Brittney’s brother Derek Wood have pleaded guilty to child abuse charges and are awaiting sentence.

Donnie Holland’s wife Wendy, her sisters Mendy Kent and Chessie Wood and close family friends Jennifer Moore, Nelton ‘Butch’ Morgan and James Cumbaa are awaiting trial on child abuse charges.

Investigators are convinced the adult abusers were child sex victims themselves stretching back three generations.

Donnie Holland embarked on a relationship with Wendy Wood and her twin sister Mendy when they were as young as 11 years old. He was in his 20s. He married Wendy at age 16 when she became pregnant with Donnie jr. – now a convicted sex abuser himself – but he continued to have sex with her twin sister Mendy.

Two questions hang over the current investigation, however. The first is whether the abuse could have been stopped earlier – with tantalizing suggestions that it could.

The second remains entirely unanswered: what has happened to Donnie’s victim Brittney Wood, who remains officially missing.

Brittney is at the center of both questions – as she first alerted authorities to abuse in her family in 2004.
Age 11, she complained she had been molested by her step-grandfather Ronald Robertson. He was arrested and sentenced to 25 years for child abuse.

However investigators say they are bewildered that she did reveal more about the regular abuse she suffered at the hands of her close family and their friends.
