A Virginia couple, both lawyers, were arrested for stabbing a man and his wife Sunday, just days after one of the suspects had been fired from the man’s law firm, police said.

Alecia Schmuhl, 30, and Andrew Schmul, 31, of Springfield, are charged with two counts of abduction and two counts of malicious wounding, according to WUSA 9.

Andrew Schmuhl allegedly knocked on the door of the victims’ upscale McLean house and forced his way inside, police said. The alleged attack on the couple lasted for hours before one of the victims managed to trigger an alarm, which caused the suspects to flee at about 9:45 p.m.

The male victim is a partner at a Northern Virginia law firm, according to WUSA.

According to the Washington Post, Upon arriving at the scene, Police discovered the victims, with life-threatening knife wounds on their upper bodies, according to the Washington Post. They were rushed to INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Police apprehended the Schmuhls an hour after the incident occurred based on the victims’ descriptions of their vehicle, police said.

Reports state that Alecia Schmuhl was reportedly fired from the Bean Kinney & Korman firm in Northern Virginia Friday. She wanted revenge for being fired by her former employer, Bean Kinney Managing Partner Leo S. Fisher, according to various reports.
