A 12-year-old Tennessee girl was rescued from prostitution by her own father who attacked the man accused of pimping her out with a baseball bat.

That man is behind bars on rape of a child and trafficking charges.

According to police, the girl was forced into prostitution and when her father figured out where she was, he grabbed a baseball bat and went after her alleged pimp.

Brian Jones is being held on a $200,000 bond, accused of holding a 12-year-old girl against her will.

“It’s shocking though, when I heard he did that,” said Curtis Nelson Jr., who lives next door. “He was a person always trying to demand women around and stuff, but I didn’t know he was that type of person, but I guess you can’t trust nobody out here.”

Police say, the girl’s father got into a physical altercation with Jones because he wouldn’t let her go.

Jones eventually called police, claiming someone was trying to lock him in a van. Before police got to the scene, they were flagged down by the 12-year-old girl’s father.

The dad told police Jones forced his daughter to have sex against her will with several men inside his apartment. The arrest affidavit says Jones told police he did allow someone to bring the 12-year-old to his apartment; he also said he was aware she was involved in sexual activity in one of his bedrooms.

Even though Jones was booked into jail, the men who police say had sex with the girl have not been arrested.

“Yeah, they need to catch them,” Nelson said. “Give all of them 50 plus. Life without the possibility of parole.”

Jones is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 1.
