A man police said is connected to at least four casino robberies in Las Vegas was shot and killed by cops at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino on Sunday.

The casino robbery suspect had been under surveillance by undercover officers for four days at the time he was gunned down while resisting arrest near the guest elevators at 5:05 a.m.

At first, Police used a stun gun on the man, but then opened fire when he reached for his waistband, Metro police Capt. Matt McCarthy said.

Cops found a gun on the man, who died at the scene.

“Because of the potential of explosives we had the Las Vegas bomb squad as well as the (police) armor team show up,” McCarthy said, according to KSNV.

“They’re the ones who conducted the cursory search of the subject to make sure he did not have explosives on him and he did not.”

McCarthy described the suspect as a white male who brandished a handgun during recent casino robberies and claimed in some of them that he had explosive devices on him.

Police were tipped off that the man was staying at the Rio and a surveillance operation was launched.

No one else was in injured in the fatal confrontation.
