A former English teacher on the job just a few months was sentenced to a year in prison for the rape of a male student, which occurred in 2014.

Kalyn Thompson, 25,  taught at Kellyville High School  must also register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to second-degree rape in Creek County District Court in Bristow.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced her to one year in state prison, and must serve a probation period in Texas.

Thompson must not have any contact with the victim, who was 18 years old and a junior at Kellyville.

Thompson resigned from her position back in April after the allegations surfaced, According to investigators, the Principal at the school, Danny Wood told police he had warned Thompson not to contact the student outside of school after she had been caught having dinner with him in January.

The student claimed he and Thompson had sex twice, the first time at a lake and again at a hotel. Investigators located the hotel room receipt, which was under her name.

Police also discovered text messages of a sexual nature and mentioned drug use, while others discussed how the student’s grade in Thompson’s class went from “flunking” in December to 98 percent.
