Police in Texas have released a picture of a man wanted for armed robbery. Problem is, there’s very little to be seen in the sketch.

A ski mask covers the man’s face, leaving only his eyes and mouth exposed.

He’s wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey. So unless he never changes clothes, there’s little chance the sketch will help nab anyone.

The robber joins a lineup of pretty abysmal police sketches that offer barely a glimmer into what the suspect actually looks like.

Often, it’s no one’s fault — the criminal was wearing a mask or a bandana. Sometimes the victim is a child who can’t readily offer defining characteristics.

But sometimes the sketches are laughingly bad, as was the case last year in Portland, Ore., when police issued a composite drawing of a short-haired caucasian man whose lower face was covered with some kind of scarf or piece of crocodile hide.

Sketches of Unabomber Ted Kaczynski circulated in the 1980s showing a man in a hoodie with large, dark aviator sunglasses — and except for a tuft of curly hairy, not much else. It was a based on just one witness who said she saw him drop off a package that later turned out to be a bomb.

In the end, after nearly 18 years of hiding, Kaczynski was arrested in 1996, not because of the sketch, but because his brother, David, contacted federal authorities
