A Florida wife who found her husband in bed with another woman at her home beat the man with her shoe, Volusia County sheriff’s deputies said.

Christine Black, 46, a teacher in Orange County, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to an arrest report.

She was being held Tuesday without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail.

Deputies were called to the Heron Dunes Drive home at 2:56 p.m. Monday by Larry Black, 49, who reported his wife threw a shoe at him after finding him in bed with another woman, reports state.

Larry Black said the shoe struck him in the left side of the face and he told deputies his wife was suicidal, reports state.

Deputies found Christine Black lying in sand in her backyard distraught and yelling obscenities; she told them she was upset but not suicidal.

“Wouldn’t you be this upset if you came home to this?” Christine Black said, according to the report.

Christine Black denied hitting her husband with a shoe, and said that she had been depressed and wanted a divorce, investigators said.

Deputies found a pair of shoes in the sand. Larry Black had a small cut to the top of his head but there were no injuries on the side of his face where he said the shoe struck him.

He refused medical attention.
