Colorado Firefighters responding to an early-morning house fire were surprised to find the words”’my wife’s a cheater” spray painted twice on the outside wall of the home, next to a name.

The home located on Nelson Street, Arvada exploded and set ablaze on 1.30am on Tuesday.

Firefighters said they discovered the occupant’s belongings in the middle of the street. However, they remain unclear whether the words spray painted across the side of the house are connected to the fire.

Police did announce the arrest of a man suspected of arson in connection with the fire. Neighborhood residents told KDVR that the home belongs to a couple who have three young children.

The Arvada Fire Department confirmed that all the people who lived in the house suffered no injuries.

“When our fire responders arrived, they were immediately forced to battle flames from the front and back of the house,’ spokesperson Deanna Harrington of the Deputy Fire Marshall told the Denver Post.

The fire weakened the floor, prohibiting fire crews from entering the home. Once the firefighters got the massive flames under control, they covered the spray painted words with blue tarps.

Investigators have concluded the cause of the blaze but withheld details due to possible pending criminal charges.

“They are a younger family,’ neighbor Fred Holman told KDVR. ‘They’ve lived in the house for five years, maybe a little longer. “They’re very nice people, splendid neighbors. I am shocked anything like this would happen.’

No other homes were reported damaged in the fire.
