All three Members of Hip-Hop Group, Migos Arrested on Drugs and Weapons Charges

Police arrested three hip hop artists from the group Migos, who now face drug and weapon charges following a weekend performance at Georgia Southern University.

As the Migos and their entourage arrived for the Saturday night concert on the Statesboro campus in two vans, members of a crime Statesboro and Bulloch County Sheriffs suppression team smell “a very potent odor” of marijuana coming from both vans, sheriff’s officials said in the statement.

Once the rappers entered inside Hanner Fieldhouse to perform, the officers approached the drivers of both vehicles. After conducting a search of the vehicles, cops discovered multiple guns, marijuana, and another undisclosed drug, sheriff’s officials said.

“These discoveries are concerning as the drugs and firearms had been brought to a university sponsored event where over a thousand students attended,” sheriff’s officials said in a in the statement.

The members of the group were arrested as they walked off stage the stage and face charges including drug possession; possession of firearms in a school safety zone; and possession of firearms during the commission of a crime.

Three artists are identified as 24-year-old Quavious Marshall; 20-year-old Kirschnick Ball; and 23-year-old Kiari Cephus. The group’s representatives have not commented on their arrests.

Around a dozen or so other occupants who travelled in the two vans – were also arrested and taken custody after the concert. Charges they face have not been made immediately available. The Migos were contracted to perform at the school’s annual spring concert event.
