Police raided a nightclub in Jacksonville, Florida as part of a massive drug operation dubbed “Operation Poppin Molly.” Police arrested sixteen people after raiding Pure Nightclub on charges of possession of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and Molly.

Sheriff Joe Rutherford said at a news conference that an additional twenty arrest warrants have been issued, and four of the 36 suspects are employees at the nightclub. Police shut down Pure indefinitely, and Rutherford stated they can reopen once all of the outstanding code violations get resolved.

Rutherford added the extensive operation starts with Pure but will involve other nightclubs in the area.

“Not only may we have saved some young person out there, some young adult from overdosing on Molly, but we may have also kept them from being shot by somebody in the drug world,” Rutherford said.

Pure is known for hosting Electronic Dance Music (EDM) events, which parties known for excessive drug use.
