The son of former New York Giants Linebacker and NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, plead guilty to charges of statutory rape and child molestation in a Georgia court on Monday.

A judge sentenced Lawrence Taylor Jr. to 10 years in prison for statutory rape and child molestation charges. Police charged the 33-year-old son of the New York Giants legend with raping two 13-year-old girls between 2012 and 2013.

Taylor was set for trial on Monday in Cobb County Georgia but admitted he’d most likely be found guilty and instead took a plea bargain Monday.

Taylor Jr. received a ten-year prison sentence by Judge Mary Staley sentenced him and 20 years probation after his release. Police in Georgia arrested Taylor, known as T.J. back in July of 2013 after one of the victims had reported he’d had sexually abused her.

Detectives also uncovered a second victim Taylor had abused four or five times dating back to 2012. He now joins the NFL great as a registered sex offender.

His father pleaded guilty to solicitation of a prostitute and sexual misconduct after a consorting with an underage prostitute back in 2010.

“The guilty plea provides the victims with finality and prevents them from having to recollect their experiences on the witness stand,” assistant Cobb County District Attorney Hannah Palmquist said. “Justice has been served, in this case, not only because the defendant will serve ten years in prison, but because the victims will not have to be put through the emotional toll of a trial.”
