According to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, The confiscated guns, were smuggled from Maine; Stamford, Connecticut; and Port Chester, New York and would have been used to commit crimes.

Detectives said the gun traffickers figured out Metro-North was a convenient option to smuggle the illegal guns into New York. “They concealed them in carry-on luggage and bags, although the didn’t transport dozens of guns at one time, they were still very effective,” Sneiderman said.

“The gun used to kill Officer Brian Moore was a gun purchased in a similar way, was brought out of state and smuggled into New York,” said Schneiderman.

Police arrested a tenth gang member, who is accused conspiring to murder a rival gang member. The defendants are facing a total of 397 charges, in connection with the illegal sale of guns. All of the suspects plead not guilty to the charges.
