3-Year-old Toddler Aims Loaded Semi-Automatic Weapon At Police

An incident that ended in an arrest could have easily ended tragically for a little girl in California. Police arrested a mother in San Bernadino after shocked police officers discovered her 3-year-old daughter aiming a loaded, semiautomatic weapon at them on Tuesday.

Police officers safely disarmed the toddler and arrested her mother, identified as 20-year-old Kimberly Torres, was charged with suspicion of child endangerment and possession of stolen property.

“While Detectives spoke to Torres, The child walked out of a bedroom holding a semiautomatic pistol, with a tactical light attached to the gun, and pointed the gun at the detectives as they spoke to Torres,” the San Bernardino police said in a statement.

The officers immediately disarmed the child and discovered the weapon to be loaded.

Detectives questioned Torres about two stolen guns taken from an off-duty Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle. One of the stolen guns was the firearm the 3-year-old aimed at cops.

Investigators say they recovered the other stolen weapon during a traffic stop. Police arrested the driver, identified as 25-year-old Ramon Quintero.

However, the car was registered to Torres, which is how detectives were able to track down Torres on Tuesday.The Dept. of Child and Family Services has taken custody of the toddler.
