Rapper Bobby Shmurda was involved in a melee involving rival gangs in his NYC jailhouse.

Shmurda and 5 were involved in the brawl last month at the Otis Bantum Correctional Center According to law enforcement sources.

According to TMZ, guards discovered the brawl in full swing as the inmates were throwing haymakers at each other. Aside from Shmurda, the inmates who took part in the brawl included an accused burglar, murderer, sodomist, and kidnapper.

Prison officials believe the incident was gang-related involving the Bloods and Crips. Four of the inmates, including Bobby, belong to the Crips, the two other men are members of the Bloods. Guards broke up the brawl  by blasting pepper spray at the fighting participants.

Shmurda remains in jail awaiting trial on an array of gang conspiracy charges. Early this year, JammedUp co-founder Ira Judelson arranged Shmurda’s $2 million bail package. However, a suretor for the bond pulled out and no bail hearing has been scheduled since. His attorney refused to comment on the jail house melee.
