The rap artist known as “Chinx” was killed early Sunday morning after being shot multiple times as he drove his Porsche in Queens, New York. Police say a passenger was also critically wounded in the shooting.

According to the New York Daily News, Chinx, whose real name is Lionel Pickens, was shot several times in the torso and the passenger took two bullets to his back around 4 a.m. as they drove on Queens Blvd. in the Briarwood section of Queens.

Witnesses say the suspected shooter sped off after pumping at least seven bullets, which pierced the front and driver’s side windows of his Porsche Panamera 4.¬†An employee at a nearby coffee shop said when Police arrived at the scene, Pickens, still sitting in the driver’s seat, already looked lifeless.

“The police came, and they opened up the door,” said Bibekanada Das, who worked in the kitchen of the coffee shop at the time of the shooting, said, “All you could see was the guy laid out on the seat.”

Paramedics rushed Chinx and the 27-year-old male passenger to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the passenger was listed in critical but stable condition.

Pickens, is a member of French Montana’s Coke Boys group and record label. He released his first solo record in 2009 featuring the tracks Hurry Up & Die Vol. 1: Get Ya Casket On.”
