Mexican State Police Arrest 13 Members of The Gulf Cartel In Reynosa Without Incident

State Police arrested 13 alleged members of the Gulf Csartel in the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Security officers arrested the heavily armed men, who were travelling in 3 vehicles.

Authorities seized drugs, firearms and radios from the vehicles.

In a press release, the Tamaulipas government announce the arrests of the reputed cartel members, who are identified as Arturo Macias Solis, Jose Carlos Quintero Renteria, Ulises Esuat Betancourt Azua, David Alejandro Lopez Montoya, Jose Maximo Salgado Ruiz, Jose Francisco Gomez Trevino, Jose Manuel Caldera Rios, Luis Pablo Reyes Gomez, Daniel Wing Carmano, Brayan Juan Raymundo Ignacio, Eduardo Gomez Martinez, Martin Gomez Gonzalez and Janeth Araceli Ruiz Reyes.

The cartel operatives were believed to be members of a hawk or lookout unit in the frontier town for the Gulf Cartel .

A Public Ministry Agent said Jose Manuel Caldera Rios admitted that he had been recruited from prison.

The State Police confiscated 6 rifles, 6 kilos of marijuana, three radios, 1233 rounds of different calibre’s, 45 metal tyre puncturing spikes, and 56 magazines.

The 3 vehicles confiscated were and black Ford Expedition with Texas plates, a green Grand Caravan with Texas plates and a black Toyota Runner SR5.

Among the suspects arrested, two of the men were of Guatemalan nationality.
