Gun violence plaugued New york City over the past 24 hours, which was highlighted by a wild shootout at a Brooklyn house party which saw Thirteen people injured early Sunday, witnesses and officials said.

Shell casings littered Stanley Ave. near Crescent Ave. where where the shootout erupted outside a two-story complex around 2:20 a.m., police said.

A nearby resident said he came outside after the gunshots woke him up.

“There was bodies on the ground. Everybody was laying down ’til the shooting stopped and then they got up and scattered,” said Faylo Alston, 43.

One man who was at the party said he came outside after the shots rocked the neighborhood.

“I actually helped a girl who was shot in the leg get to the hospital,” said the man who declined to hub his name.

All of the victims were taken to local area hospitals, where at least two people were listed in serious condition, according to a fire department spokesman.

Investigators combed the area in search of bullet fragments and evidence Sunday morning.

There were 14 gunshot victims on Sunday alone and 19 over the weekend in a city that has witnessed an increase in homicides and gun violence so far this year, according to police statistics.

In another area of Brooklyn, a 46-year-old man was he was fatally shot several times in the body in the Whitman Houses courtyard in Fort Greene, authorities said.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was rushed to Methodist Hospital where he later died.

About an hour earlier in the Bronx, Christian Garcia, 20, was gunned down and two other people were shot in a playground at about 1:30 a.m., police said.

Responding officers discovered another man, 25, shot in the leg, a 17-year-old girl hit in the buttocks and Garcia – who lived just across the street – fatally shot in the chest at the Space Time Playground on Bolton Ave. and Lafayette St. in Soundview.

The older man was taken to Jacobi Hospital and the girl was brought to Lincoln Medical Center, cops said. They were both listed in stable condition.

Later back in Brooklyn, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the stomach in a drive-by shooting when the gunman sprayed bullets across Flatbush Ave. and Lincoln Road, hitting several cars in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens at 3:45 a.m., police said.

The boy was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was expected to survive.

This spate of gun violence punctuated a bloody weekend that already saw one man gunned down and four more people shot in Brooklyn in less than two hours on Saturday.

None of the suspects had been arrested as of Sunday morning.
