Mexican Security officials say seven bodies were discovered Thursday in an area known as “El Sumidero” (“The Gully”) located in the municipality of San José Acateno, on the Puebla border with the state of Veracruz. The bodies were wrapped in blankets and contained a warning message.

Although the state attorney refused to release the contents of the message, police sources said the murders and message attached, was the work of the Zetas.

The location has become a dumping ground for corpses by organized crime groups in the state of Veracruz, despite the fact that roadblocks were installed by the Mexican Army, the Navy and State Police, after the August 5th gruesome discovery, at the same site, of two women, who were naked, sexually assaulted and decapitated.

In the last two months, 11 bodies have been found in this location, between km 4 and 5 of the Acateno-Tlapacoyan highway, adjoining “guayabal” road.

On Tuesday July 7, two murdered males were found in plastic bags, both showing signs of torture.  The bodies were discovered  on the edge of the Acateno-Tlapacoyan Highway.

San Manuel ranch workers after noticing an odor, investigated the origin and found the naked corpses, whose hands were bound and displayed signs of torture.  The bodies had been undiscovered for days, they were badly decomposed and had been partially devoured by wildlife.

Thursday’s gruesome was made on the same day gunmen stormed a bar killing 6 people including a Zetas plaza boss and a correspondant for Ex Televisa.
