An Arizona woman is under arrest for the drowning deaths of her 2-year-old Baby twins. The toddlers were found dead after drowning in a bathtub at their Arizona home.

First responders rushed to a home in Avondale after a call about 2-year-old twins drowning in a bathtub came at 11:54 a.m. on Sunday, according to reports.

Avondale police arrived and saw the twin infants lying unresponsive on a bed, Sgt. Brandon Busse said.

After being unable to save the twins there, they were brought to local hospitals, where they died, he said.

The twins died at about 12:30 p.m., said Avondale Fire Deputy Chief Ron Deadman. The mother, Mireya Alejandra Lopez, 22, admitted to police she intentionally drowned both of the twin boys in the bathtub.

Investigators revealed she also tried to drown a third child in the home but was stopped by family members.

Lopez is charged with two counts of homicide and attempted homicide. Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
