A man shown in a surveillance video crashing his pickup into the front desk of a northwestern Oklahoma hotel and nearly hitting two women is facing charges.

Police say 62-year-old John Parsley of Gonzales, Texas, wanted a refund on two transactions.

Officer Wade Suffon says he offered to talk to a manager, but Parsley drove off and crashed into the hotel.

The video shows the truck back up after the initial hit and slam into the lobby again.

Parsley faces two felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of malicious injury to property over $1,000. It’s not clear whether he has an attorney.

Kingson Christian and his wife, Rupal, own the hotel. Rupal is one of the women who was nearly hit, and she went to the hospital Monday night for a checkup.

“She has some pain in the head and on the back,” Kingson Christian said.

Kingson Christian said Parsley checked into the hotel early last week. His debit card was declined during the initial check-in and on the second day of his stay.

Parsley paid with cash instead, but his debit card was later approved and Parsley feared he had been charged twice.

“I went to my office and wiped the transaction and got him the document saying the transaction is void, but he was not willing to listen and says, ‘I want my money right now,’” Kingson Christian said.

Kingson Christian thought they had settled the issue Thursday morning.

“He comes back in the afternoon really, really mad and angry talking with my wife, you know, ‘I had this bad experience with Indian people everywhere I go,’” Kingson Christian said. “My wife told him you cannot judge from your past experience.”

John Parsley, 62, drove his truck through a hotel lobby in Oklahoma, allegedly because his credit card was declined.

Kingson Christian and Rupal Christian have lived in Alva for the past several years but are originally from India.

Police were finally called to the scene.

“He walked out of the door and threatened my wife … said ‘just you stay here and I’ll roll over, you stay on the desk and you’ll see,’” Kingson Christian said.

On security footage, an officer is seen trying to talk to Parsley but Parsley drives through the building shortly after.
