Authorities in Boston arrested a man at Gillette Stadium after seizing weapons from his car on Friday before the Winter Classic.

Police made the discovery in the employee parking lot after they were alerted of a man acting suspiciously. According to the arresting officers, the man, who was intoxicated, was holding an object in his hands and said something threatening to three people that caused them to flee for their lives.

Matthew Bromson 48, of North Granby, Connecticut was arrested after a subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered several weapons, including a stun gun, swords and a meat clever. Police officials said Bromson was so intoxicated at the time; he was incapacitated.

Police charged Bromson with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, trespassing, disorderly conduct, and possession of a stun gun.

Bromson was kicked out of America’s Best Value Inn in Foxboro, and police officers assisted him in finding another hotel.

Bromson was arrested in 2014 after allegedly barricading himself in his house and threatening to shoot officers. Officers knew he owned several handguns and rifles. He eventually surrendered without incident.

Police said there was never a threat to Gillette Stadium, and it was an isolated incident.
