Suspect accused of armed robbery tracked down posting taking selfie with victim on Snapchat

A robber in Northern California didn’t realize anything he posted on social media equates as evidence.

Pacific Grove Police managed to arrest Victor Almanza-Martinez, 18, who is accused of armed robbery, after he took a selfie with one of the victims he robbed and posted it on Snapchat.

Police say they are also searching for another two suspects who may have participated in the robbery.

Almanza-Martinez of Castroville and his two cohorts robbed four people of their belongings at gunpoint on Wednesday at Lovers Point Park.

Before the suspects fled in one of the victim’s car, Almanza-Martinez and a female victim posed for a selfie, which Police say helped track down Almanza-Martinez.

In addition to robbery, Almanza-Martinez facing kidnapping, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, violation of probation and gang enhancement charges. He is currently held on $170,000 bail at the Monterey County Jail.
