The attorney for the 15-year-old Brooklyn girl who Police say murdered her mother and mother’s boyfriend, then left the bodies in their apartment for days and even went out partying in Times Square on New Years Eve is in good spirits.

Peter Guadagnino, the court-appointed attorney representing Destiny Garcia said at a brief hearing at Kings County Supreme Courthouse that his client “understands the seriousness of the case.”

Garcia confessed to fatally shooting and stabbing her mother Rosie Sanchez, 38 and her boyfriend Anderson Nunez, 40, in their Sheepshead Bay apartment on Dec. 28th.

According to authorities, the teen left the bodies in the apartment to rot for six days prior confessing to the slayings.

She first told investigators that her mother ignored the fact that Nunez sexually abused her, but then changed her story and accused her mother of abuse and it was Nunez who refused to help her.

A grand jury will convene Friday to decide whether to indicate Garcia, who is not expected to testify.

Sanchez died of a gunshot wound to the ear and a stab wound to the chest, Nunez was shot in the arm and died from multiple stab multiple wounds to the neck, torso and head.

Garcia faces 30 year-to-life for the double homicide if convicted.
