As if Mexican drug cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán needed anymore massive wall to wall coverage after his July escape from a maximum-security prison last July.

Dragon Films spokesman Carlos Olivares told Spanish news agency that a new film portraying the Sinaloa drug lord’s escape would open for a limited engagement in 300 theaters in Mexico

“There’s real money in this business and enough for everyone, but when people want more than they deserve, that’s where treason comes in,” Guzmán, portrayed by little-known actor Irineo Alvarez, says in the film’s trailer, which dropped Monday.

“If it were fiction, you wouldn’t believe it” is the tagline, and comes out just six months after the Sinaloa cartel leader broke out of the Altiplano prison near Mexico City.

Mexican authorities have conducted a massive manhunt in the Sierra Madre Mountain range in the Golden Triangle for the Sinaloa boss.

Alex Uriegas’ is the first to direct a movie portraying Guzman. His resume includes working as a production assistant on films including “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” “Troy” and “The Legend of Zorro.”

Uriegas also worked as a production supervisor on “Gossip Girl: Acapulco,” which is Mexico’s version of the CW series “Gossip Girl.”

The Los Angeles Times reported in July an English version will be directed by Ridley Scott — director of “The Martian,” “Gladiator” and “Alien” — would direct an adaptation of Don Winslow’s novel “The Cartel,” partly inspired by Guzmán’s life.

Leonardo DiCaprio is said to be the top contender for the lead role in the film.
