Top leadership of the Sinaloa Federation is blaming actor Sean Penn and Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, son of Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, for the capture of the drug baron by Mexican authorities early Friday morning.

Mexican Marines apprehended the drug lord during a pre-dawn raid  in the town of Los Mochis, located in the Sinaloa state, after an intense firefight and a chase through the city’s sewer system.

Mexico’s Attorney General Arely Gomez revealed that Guzman’s desire to have biopic film portraying his life helped lead authorities to his whereabouts.

The following day, Rolling Stone Magazine published an interview with “Chapo” Guzman, conducted by American actor Sean Penn and allegedly facilitated by Mexican actress Kate Del Castillo the day after the arrest.

According to Breitbart Texas, a retired senior U.S. intelligence official who is working as a security contractor for the Mexican government revealed that a beef has been stirring among the leadership of the Sinaloa Cartel in the days following Guzman’s arrest.

According to the source, Ivan Archivaldo reportedly convinced his father to conduct the interview and gave him the idea of having a movie made portraying his life story.

“Ivan (Chapo’s son) made several mistakes,” the official said.

The source who has direct knowledge of the investigation said the drug lord’s infatuation with Kate Del Castillo, who has played female drug kingpins on Spanish soap operas sealed her involvement.

“They had a flirtation thing going on,” the official said, adding Guzman’s well-documented history of pursuing attractive young women.

His current wife, and mother to his twin daughters, Emma Coronel Aispuro is a former beauty queen.

Guzman and Del Castillo reportedly conducted several video and phone conversations that led to his infatuation with the sexy actress.

Guzman’s correspondence with Penn and Del Castillo helped Mexican law enforcement officials and international security contractors working for the government triangulate his location while also providing further insight into the cartel’s operational structure.

The source told Breitbart Texas that Penn’s meeting is what led to the capture of Guzman because they “were able to identify hundreds of radios and cell phones and get a complete map of targets for electronic intel collection.”

The Sinaloa cartel’s leadership ordered all communication devices including radio phones, satellite phones, and Blackberries destroyed and replaced.

According to Breitbart Texas, the source cited information from gathered intel following the capture, on the organization’s top capos who sit on the leadership board under the hospices of the Sinaloa Federation along with Guzman.

The official revealed that top leaders Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and Damaso Lopez Nunez “El Licenciado” were infuriated by the recent events.

The officials said Zambada and Nunez have placed blame directly on the shoulders of Ivan and Penn for the fiasco that seemed more like an episode of a Spanish Novella, the official said.

The cartel bosses anger also stems from the breakdown in communication that took place during Guzman’s capture that also led to the arrest of Ivan “El Cholo” Gastelum, a reputed plaza boss, who is considered a micro-manager with lieutenants who wouldn’t act unless he specifically ordered.

Damaso and Guzman’s sons called reinforcements to assist Guzman during the operation by Mexican Marines.

However, Gastelum’s operatives wouldn’t act unless Gastellum himself gave the order. By the time they realized there was, in fact, a raid, El Chapo, and Gastelum were already detained, the official said.

Senior DEA officials now view Zambada and Damaso Lopez as the two most powerful capos in the Sinaloa organization after the arrest of Guzman.
