Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin blamed her son’s recent arrest for domestic violence on posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and even President Obama during a campaign stop for Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday.

Police arrested 26-year-old Track Palin, at the Palin family home for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and for possession of an AR-15 assault rifle while under the influence of alcohol.

Palin said that respect for military sacrifices “starts from the top,” in reference to the President.

The 2008 vice-presidential candidate said at a rally in Tulsa Oklahoma: “It comes from our own president, they have to look at him and wonder, ‘Does he even know what we go through? Does he know what we’re trying to do to secure America?”

Palin also said the Iraq war had changed her son.

“My son, like so many other war veterans, came back a bit different, they come back hardened, they come back wondering if the respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airmen and every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to this country,” she said.

Trump told CNN, that he had suggested that Palin, address her son’s arrest on the stump, and he agreed that Obama was to blame.

“Everything starts at the top and he’s the president,” Trump said, according to Politico. “All you have to do is look at the Veterans Administration and look at the bad . . . care our vets get.”

Palin had been scheduled to appear with Trump at a morning event in Iowa but didn’t show for reasons the campaign didn’t explain.

Her remarks were more concise than Tuesday evening when she endorsed Trump in a rambling speech.

During an earlier stop in Iowa, Trump went for rival Ted Cruz’s jugular, describing his chief GOP rival as “worse than Hillary [Clinton]” for not disclosing bank loans from when he first ran for the Senate and issues related to his former Canadian citizenship.

“He didn’t put down two big banks loaning him money because he didn’t want you to see that. That’s a problem,” Trump said.

Cruz has acknowledged failing to disclose to a federal campaign agency loans from Goldman Sachs and Citibank for his 2012 Senate race — although he did list them on a separate Senate form.

Because of the loan, “Goldman Sachs owns him,” Trump charged. “Remember that, folks. They own him.”
