Police arrested former NFL quarterback Vince Young for drinking and driving shortly after midnight Monday in Austin, Texas.

According to Austin police spokesman Ivan Ramos, the 32-year-old former University of Texas quarterback was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and booked into the Travis County Jail.

A judge set a $2,000 bail for Young.

Officers stopped Young after observing his car drifting across lanes of traffic reaching speeds up to 60 mph. Young refused a preliminary field sobriety test after he reportedly admitted to drinking three to four beers at the W Hotel earlier in the night.

Young, who led the Texas Longhorns to a 2005 national title after defeating the USC Trojans in the Rose Bowl, played six seasons in the NFL his last being with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011.

After getting cut by the Browns during mini-camp in May 2014, he went to work for University of Texas promoting diversity and community engagement.

University representatives have yet to comment on Young’s arrest.
