Authorities in Mexico announced the seizure of 828 kilograms of cocaine on a truck transporting containers in the city of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas,

The federal police made the discovery during a routine patrol, after noticing a truck driving erratically and swerving onto opposing traffic.

The officers stopped the truck to question the driver and passenger, who both appeared to be nervous. The driver told the police officers that they traveled from Veracruz en route to Monterrey carrying empty containers.

A search conducted of the shipments discovered the massive drug stash wrapped in duct tape hidden inside containers customized with a double bottom.

Police arrested both men identified as Christian David Pizaña Aquilar,30, and Jorge Nájera Martínez, 23, who were taken to the headquarters of the Federal Police in Ciudad Victoria.

Mexican officials say the 734 packages of cocaine, equaling 998 kilograms have a estimated street value of $30 million U.S. dollars.
