Federal agents have arrested four suspected as Mexican cartel operatives at a hotel in Secaucus, New Jersey Monday, in one of the largest heroin busts in the state’s history.

Authorities arrested Oscar Rene Felix, 38, of Menifee, Calif., John Ulloa, 35, of the Bronx, Anthony Ross Koon, 54, of Pueblo Colo. and Alan Martin Alderman, 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada in the operation.

All of the suspects appeared in court late Tuesday on state drug conspiracy charges, officials said.

Federal and local law enforcement officers nabbed the four men on Monday with 31 kilos of heroin branded with the number “77” stuffed inside gym bags and $14,000 cash.

Officials said the suspects checked into the Extended Stay America in Secaucus on Sunday.

Sources say the men oversaw the smuggling of heroin throughout the tri-state area. The joint operation occurred following a three-month investigation involving agents the DEA, New Jersey State and New York State Police along with the NYPD.

Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Erin Mulvey said the men intended to use the hotel room as a stash location. “The drugs were destined for users in the tri-state area,” Mulvey said.

“It’s one of the largest seizures of heroin in the state’s history,” said N.J. State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

The judge ordered Felix and Koon held on $1 million cash bail, Ulloa and Alderman on $750,000.

Last week DEA and NYPD officers made the largest heroin seizure in New York City history, after discovering 100 pounds of heroin in the back of a pick-up truck in Queens.
