Police in Philly are investigating the assault of two off-duty police officer allegedly committed by Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy and three other men at a Philadelphia nightclub early Sunday morning.

According to multiple reports, the physical confrontation occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday at the Recess bar. McCoy’s group and the off-duty cops reportedly got into the altercation because of a dispute over who owned a bottle of champagne.

McCoy’s group allegedly pounced on one of the officers. The four men punched and stomped on the victim multiple times after knocking him to the ground, the police report states.

Authorities said Curtis Brinkley, who played for the San Diego Chargers, was reportedly one of the other men involved. Although police have made no arrests, McCoy and the others are the targets of an investigation.

According to Philly.com, Officer Darnell Jessie received eight stitches over his eye and was being examined at a local hospital for a possible skull fracture. Doctors treated the other officer identified as Roland Butler for a broken nose, broken ribs, a laceration over his eye and an injured thumb.

The police report did not point out McCoy by name but did state that at least one of the suspects involved was believed to be an NFL player.

“We are aware of the reports regarding LeSean McCoy and are in the process of gather more information,” the Bills said in a released statement. “We will not provide any further comment at this time.”

McCoy’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined comment on the news report.
