Cleveland-based rapper Stew Deez arrested for firing gun outside New York venue

Police in Suffolk County, New York arrested Rapper Stew Deez after he fired shots in the air during a melee outside a club following a performance by Bone thugs-N-Harmony, early Friday morning.

Officers responded to calls of a fight outside Club Emporium, which is a hot spot in Patchogue around 2:30 a.m. Upon arriving on the scene, cops heard the sound of gunfire ring out and witnessed a crowd scattering.

Authorities said Stew Deez, whose real name is Steward Howse, was arrested later on Friday around 4:35 p.m.

The Cleveland-based rapper had opened for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on Thursday night, the day before the shooting and is touring with the Grammy Award-winning rap group.

Howse was arrested following an investigation and was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

No injuries were reported. Howse faces charges including reckless endangerment and weapons possession.
