A judge has granted Radric Davis, better known as the rapper Gucci Mane, early release from an Indiana Federal detention center where he was serving a prison sentence for weapons charges, his attorney announced on Thursday.

Gucci Mane has remained in jail since 2013 and was handed a 39-month prison term in 2014 after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, which ran concurrently with a three-year sentence

for an assault charge stemming from an incident that occurred in an Atlanta night club.

His scheduled release date was initially set for Sept. 20. However, according to his lawyer Drew Findling, the 36-year-old hip-hop entertainer was granted his release after several motions were filed on his behalf arguing that Davis hadn’t been credited for time previously served.

“The original computation didn’t give him that credit; We had to submit a series of motions,” Findling said on Thursday.

The attorney added, “Ultimately; the judge acknowledged he was entitled to that credit. Then the bureau of prison immediately gave him that credit.”

The Atlanta-based rapper will remain on house arrest, followed by federal supervised release, which is equivalent to probation.

Findling said his client shed around 50 pounds over the course of his incarceration.

“He’s trimmed. He’s fit; He’s very excited to go back to his life’s calling, which is being a recording artist,” said Findling.

Mane’s girlfriend, Keyshia Ka’oir, showcasing his rock-hard abs and what appeared to be their intertwined hands with the captioning “Reunited,” on numerous Snapchat posts on Thursday.
