A man who was arrested at a Trump Rally in Las Vegas when he tried to grab an officer’s gun admitted he wanted to execute the presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Federal prosecutors in the U.S. District Court of Nevada charged Michael Steven Sanford with an act of violence on restricted grounds.

Sandford attended a Trump campaign rally at the Treasure Island Casino; reports allege that the man walked up to a police officer and told him that he wanted to get Trump’s autograph.

According to Las Vegas police, Sanford, who is only 19-years-old, was arrested inside the casino’s theater after he grabbed the handle of the officer’s weapon in an attempt to steal it.

A complaint filed on Monday cited a Special Agent Swierkowski, who said that Sanford informed officers that he drove from California to murder Trump. He even mentioned that he went to a gun range in Las Vegas the day before so he could learn how to fire.

Sandford also admitted to police he plotted Trump’s assassination for a year, which included reserving a ticket for another Trump event later in the day in Phoenix as a backup.

It is currently unclear if Sanford has an attorney.
