62-year-old Ohio man arrested for trafficking four different types of drugs

Ohio Police arrested a man on several counts of drug trafficking following a search of his residence in Fayette County.

The U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force and the Fayette County Sherrif’s Office executed a search warrant at the home of 62-year-oldKenneth E. Payton,  just before 6 p.m. on Friday following a lengthy investigation of criminal activity over the course of several months.

Sheriff Vernon Stanforth said Investigators arrested Payton and several individuals at the residence. However, two have only been charged.

Payton stands accused of the following charges:

Trafficking in Drugs (Oxycodone), a third-degree felony

Trafficking in Drugs (Cocaine), a fourth-degree felony

Trafficking in Drugs (Alprazolam), a fifth-degree felony

Trafficking in Drugs (Marijuana), a third-degree felony

Among the individuals caught at the scene, 62-year-old Donald O. Hayner received a summons for marijuana possession and released. The other persons at the residence were detained by detectives at the scene but then were later released.

Authorities reportedly seized alprazolam, cocaine, marijuana and oxycodone in addition to numerous items of drug paraphernalia, cash, and numerous firearms in the raid.

Payton was held at the Fayette County Jail but posted bond on Saturday morning. He is scheduled to appear for his arraignment hearing on June 22nd at the Washington Court House.
