Former NASCAR driver Mike Wallace and his daughter brutally assaulted after Charlotte concert

NASCAR veteran driver Mike Wallace and his daughter, Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden, were victims of a vicious attack in North Carolina following a Rascal Flatts concert.

Police officials said three men have been arrested and charged with the brutal assault on Wallace and his daughter.

The former driver said someone reportedly approached and shouted at him moments before the two were attacked at the PNC Music Pavillion in Charlotte North Carolina on Friday.

In an interview with ABC affiliate WSOC-TV, Wallace said: “The next thing I know that I remember getting punched in the face, … When they did hit me, it knocked me out, I was on the ground, I could feel myself getting beat, but I couldn’t feel the intensity of it.”

Wallace’s brothers, Kenny, and Rusty, who are also involved in racing, were also left bruised and bloody, while his daughter reportedly needed to be hospitalized after the assault.

Kenny posted a picture on Facebook of his brother’s terrible injuries, and said his was both “sick to his stomach” and “torn up” about the incident.

The three men suspects arrested for the attack including, 29-year-old Paul Lucas and 22-year-old Nathan Lucas face simple assault charges, while 24-year old Ralph Mangum stand accused of assaulting a female.

According to WSOC-TV, the three men have been released from custody after posting bail.

Wallace is a prominent figure on NASCAR’S Xfinity Series, who has competed in almost 200 Spring Cup races, which also included last year’s Daytona 500.
