Police in Southern California arrested a man that they say fatally gunned down a member of his own gang who was wearing colors of a rival gang, the L.A. Times reported.

Cops arrested 21-year-old Andrew Chavez on Wednesday for Michael Sanchez’s murder in Madera, California,

Investigators told the Times that Chavez fatally shot Sanchez on Sunday, both who are members of the Nortenos gang, as he walked home from a bar donning colors of a rival gang,

Police haven’t indicated what color Sanchez wore at the time. The Nortenos associate themselves with the color red.

Officials said Chavez had already been sentenced to probation for evading cops while armed with an AK-47 assault rifle.

He’s currently held on more than a million dollars bail on suspicion of murder and engaging in a criminal offense to promote a street gang.

“We would like to extend our condolences to the family of the victim, I hope that the efforts taken by our officers has provided some sort of closure to the family grieving the loss of their loved one,” police said in a statement to the Times.
