A bartender who works at a popular strip club in Miami faked her own abduction so her husband wouldn’t know she was bar hopping with another guy, according to officials.

According to the Miami Herald, the 32-year-old Karla Vasquez deceived her husband, Daniel Pacheco, into believing she had been kidnapped. The panicked man then proceeded to call the police.

When law enforcement officials found out that Vasquez made the whole thing up, she was taken into custody for falsely reporting a crime.

Vasquez’s arrest report stated: “Knowing that she was not in danger, [Vasquez] deliberately caused her husband to call the police and report a kidnapping … [Vasquez] at no point was in need of police assistance.”

The strange event began on Thursday morning at around 4:30 a.m. when Vasquez called her husband at work and begged him to come home from work because she needed help. The man initially thought the stunt was a joke and hung up on his wife.

Approximately one hour after the first call, the man got a text from his wife once again asking for help. When Pacheco called Vasquez, she told him that she saw two people sitting in her driveway inside the car.

Pacheco rushed back home and arrived around 6 a.m., but the vehicle was nowhere in sight.

The man phoned his wife who stated she’d been abducted and was inside of the car. He then called 911 to report his wife’s kidnapping.

Police officers tracked the GPS in Vasquez’s phone and car to locate the vehicle. Vasquez was recognized at 3 p.m. driving the car that she told her husband she was taken in.

Vasquez admitted to the cops that she did not return home after work and decided instead to go to a bar where she met another guy and spent the night with him.

Authorities found photos on the man’s phone that showed him and Vasquez smiling and enjoying themselves.

Neither Pacheco nor Vasquez could be reached to comment on the incident.
