A local Dallas T.V. station captured the moment 25-year-old Micah Johnson executed one of the five police officers killed during a deadly ambush attack following a protest over a pair of recent fatal police-related shootings.

Video captured by local FOX4 affiliate in Dallas shows a police officer exchanging gunfire in close quarters with Johnson, a former Army reserve soldier who served in Afghanistan.

Johnson, who was heavily armed with an assault rifle and pistol wearing body armor started gunning down police officers one by one following a Black Lives Matter protest on Thursday night.

During the video, the fallen cop is seen attempting to shoot the gunman – only for the bullet to bounce off his armored vest. The officer then tries to take cover around one side of a pillar.

The gunman moves aggressively, running to the other side firing several shots, before executing the brave officer at point blank range.

In total, 12 officers were shot, five of them fatally and another two bystanders were also injured in the deadly attack.
