Five officers were reportedly injured, and 200 arrests were made during anti-police demonstrations in cities across the United States triggered by last week’s police killings of two black men, Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Louisiana.

In St. Paul, Minnesota, police clashed with protesters, arresting 50 people who were blocking roads after refusing to obey orders to move lawfully.

Officials said riot police had to use tear gas to remove demonstrators after protesters started throwing projectiles and fireworks, injured five officers.

In Baton Rouge, La. 125 protesters were arrested, including DeRay McKesson, a Black Lives Matter leader.

Protests were organized in cities across the U.S. by Black Lives Matter and other similar groups.

Meanwhile in Dallas, police Chief David Brown told CNN that gunman Micah Johnson, the former Army reservists who killed five police officers in the downtown area of the city was planning an even bigger attack.

Brown said investigators are “convinced” that Johnson “had other plans” to attack police.

The 25-year-old Johnson, who had no criminal record and no ties to terrorist groups, was killed after being cornered by police in a parking lot. EFE
