Florida officials say A police cruiser was firebombed, and a note left near the scene mentioned the Black Lives Matter movement.

In a press release, the Daytona Beach Police Dept said calls of a police vehicle on fire began coming in around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to WESH, arriving officers discovered flames engulfing a marked Daytona Beach police cruiser in front of the Islamic Center of Daytona Beach.

Fire department units arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported in the firebombing.

Police officials said the cruiser was used as a “Ghost Car.”

Tensions have been rising across the nation following the shooting deaths of Philando Castile in St. Paul, Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the two black men, who were killed in police-related shootings in recent weeks.

Investigators discovered a note using expletives to describe police and referenced “Black Lives Matter, P. Castile, and A. Sterling.”

The firebombing of the police vehicle also comes in the wake of Sunday’s ambush in Baton Rouge that saw three officers gunned down by a gun-toting madman.
