Police say a 14-year-old Wisconsin girl, charged with attempted murder, was a self-proclaimed psychopath, who went looking for her first kill when she allegedly biked over to the home of her brother’s girlfriend, assaulted the girl before slitting her throat.

On Thursday, Kali J. Bookey has been charged as an adult with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. She is currently in custody without bail at a juvenile detention center.

Law enforcement officials stated that Bookey informed investigators that she wanted to scare the victim so she would leave the area.

Her mother, Dawn Bookey, said in a brief telephone interview on Friday that there was no indication that her daughter was planning to attack the girl and that her family is very, very sad.

The victim is currently in the hospital recuperating from “severe” injuries.

In a criminal complaint filed Thursday, police were reportedly dispatched to an area north of New Richmond, Wisconsin at approximately 9:30 am, where they found Bookey.

Bookey told authorities that she was riding her bicycle earlier that morning when two men, who were wearing ski masks and were armed with a knife, starting attacking her.

She said that she tried to save herself from the men by telling them there was a home nearby where a girl was alone.

The Daily Mail reported that officers went to the address and found the 15-year-old victim bleeding extensively from the face and neck and screaming for them to call an ambulance.

Counter to Bookey’s story, the victim said that it was her boyfriend’s sister who assaulted her for hours, first attempting to strangle her, then beating her and cutting her with the shards from a broken bowl.

As Bookey concluded her attack, the suspect allegedly asked the girl if she wished to “die right now” or “bleed out.” The victim said she wanted to bleed out, and Bookey finally stopped slashing her.

She then admitted to her scheme to the victim, saying she had planned the attack for a week and a half, biking past the residence for several days to record when people came and went.

She then referred to herself as “a psychopath and that (the victim) was her first kill and she was probably going to kill again,” according to the Daily Mail.

As Bookey was leaving, she told the victim to “have a nice afterlife.”
The teen suspect finally abandoned the men in ski hats fabrication and admitted to the attack, saying she had grown to hate the victim for how happy she made her 16-year-old brother.
