The former Texas teacher, who allegedly had an affair with a 13-year-old student and became pregnant with his child, found herself back in court for violating her curfew, but a judge chose not to revoke her bail.

According to the KHOU Houston, 24-year-old Alexandria Vera was released on $100,000 bond at her initial hearing back in June. Vera has been prohibited from surfing the web at home, and she is also required to stay away from minors and wear a GPS monitor.

The judged also ordered a court-mandated curfew for the former English teacher, requiring her to be home between 8 pm and 7 am each day.

On Wednesday, Vera stood before Michael McSpadden, to justify why she violated her curfew on July 26th.

Vera was required to be home at 8 pm but instead arrived 46 minutes late. Prosecutors notified the court that her GPS ankle device tracked her to a shopping center, according to KHOU11.

The former teacher insisted that she violated her curfew because she was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes.

During the hearing, news also emerged that the woman was caught exercising at the school track back in June, despite the fact that she is prohibited from entering school grounds as a condition of her release.

Prosecutors urged Judge McSpadden to revoke Vera’s bond, but he ruled that she was free to go.

The judge scolded Vera for infringing on the conditions of her release and issued a strict warning that the next violation would be her last.

Vera turned herself into authorities on June 1st after law enforcement officials issued a warrant for her arrest on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child. She was let go a few hours later after posting $100,000 bond.

Court documents indicate that Stovall Middle School principal Elsa Wright received a tip that Vera was engaging in an inappropriate relationship with one of her students. Wright then questioned the woman who “admitted to having a sexual relationship since September 2015 with a known student.”

The boy was in her 8th grade English class and was only 13-years-old at the time. When a police officer questioned Vera, she confessed that she had become pregnant with the boy’s child back in January.

Vera also admitted that the victim would stay at her house, and she would drive him back home in the morning so he could take the bus to school.

The affidavit stated: “She said that she and the complainant had sex on almost a daily basis at her home and that they love each other.”

The document also noted that Vera insisted the boy’s family was “supportive and excited” when they were informed about the pregnancy. However, the teacher ultimately decided to have an abortion after she got worried when CPS showed up at the school to interrogate her about the relationship.

If found guilty, Vera is currently facing between 25 years to life behind bars with no possibility of parole.
