Video captured by a security camera shows gunmen the moment gunmen storming the ‘La Leche’ restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, subduing at least 16 people at gunpoint.

The actions of the team of assassins, which lasted about 15 minutes, culminated in the abduction of at least six men, including Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, son of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, jailed leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Images obtained by Blog del Narco captured on CCTV shows the purported kidnapping of Alfredo Guzman.

The Attorney General of Jalisco, Eduardo Guzman Salazar Almaguer confirmed that 29-year-old Alfredo Guzman Salazar, son of the imprisoned leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, was one of the victims kidnapped by likely armed members of the ultra-violent Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

Guzman-Salazar attended a party with sixteen other people including his brother Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, who is believed to have assumed control of his father’s drug trafficking operations since his arrest in January.

Sources within the Attorney General’s Office told El Universal that Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar, the eldest son of the Sinaloa capo, was also among the men kidnapped.

However, those reports have yet to be confirmed, and Almaguer said the surveillance footage provided no indication that Ivan Guzman was present when the attack occurred.

Furthermore, members of the Guzman family told Proceso’s award-winning journalist Anabel Hernandez that Ivan Archivaldo had attended the celebration but left a few moments before the gunmen stormed the restaurant.

CCTV Security cameras captured footage which officials say correspond with existing evidence confirming that the Alfredo Guzman was among those kidnapped from the restaurant.

The black and white video shows several heavily armed men believed to be Guzman Salazar’s captors, entering the establishment and ordering the six men at gunpoint to place their hands on top of their heads.

One of the gunmen is seen threatening one of the victims with the barrel of a high-powered assault rifle pressed to the back of one of the unidentified man’s head.

On Tuesday, Almaguer confirmed the identity of Guzman Salazar thanks to documents found in a car, along with surveillance videos.

Officials also confirmed both brothers had vacationed in Nuevo Vallarta, located 9 miles north of Puerta Vallarta, in the municipality of Bahia de Banderas, Nayarit, despite reported warnings from the Jalisco New Generation (CJNG), which is the dominant cartel in the area.

Mexican authorities discovered evidence confirming Guzman Salazar’s identity inside several luxury vehicles parked outside the La Leche Restaraunt driven by the victims

The upstart cartel led by the ruthless Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as ‘El Mencho,’ has emerged as the main rival to the Sinaloa Cartel and has challenged El Chapo’s organization for control of territories in the state’s of Baja California, Colima, and Nayarit.

Mexican law enforcement officials now fear that the abduction of Guzman’s son will spark an all-out war between the county’s two most powerful drug trafficking organizations.

As a result, sources say authorities are investigating active leads which suggest the abductions are linked to the ongoing war between the two dominant groups.

The kidnapping of Alfredo Guzman is the latest setback for the Sinaloa Cartel leader since his apprehension.

In June, gunmen under the command of Alfredo Beltran Leyva Guzman, son of jailed kingpin Alfredo Beltran Leyva, attacked Guzman’s stronghold of La Tuna, located in the municipality of Badiraguato, Sinaloa, even ransacking the home of El Chapo’s mother.
