A criminal with good intentions. Police in Florida have arrested a woman after she reportedly attempted to bail her friend out of jail using a credit card she allegedly stole from an elderly man.

An arrest report obtained by the Smoking Gun shows 46-year-old Lakeisha Brisbane has been taken into custody and is facing charges of fraud after she robbed an elderly man of his credit card to bail her friend out of jail.

Court documents indicate Brisbane had made three charges on the man’s credit card, with total purchases adding up to $850.

Police said Brisbane’s friend and the recipient of the generous criminal act, 21-year-old Shermaine Arnold, served one week behind bars in the Pinellas County jail for neglecting to pay a cab fare.

According to public records, this wouldn’t be Brisbane’s first offense involving credit card fraud, as she previously served 15-months back in 2010 in a state prison for committing fraud.

Authorities also arrested the woman on charges of grand theft and had an outstanding warrant for battery in Miami-Dade County.

Officials said although a judge set Brisbane’s bail at $7,500, she later secured her release from custody on a $10,000 secured bond.

Brisbane has a scheduled upcoming court hearing. However, police have not provided an update on her friend’s status.
