A fugitive in Florida has been apprehended after investigators said he used a wanted poster with his mug shot on it as his profile picture on Facebook.

Stuart police say they were able to track down the man earlier this week, who is identified as 42-year-old Mack Yearwood, thanks to his decision to use his mug shot as his Facebook photo, according to Fox 29 Palm Beach.

Citrus County Sheriff’s Office posted the wanted notice online back in October after he was charged with violating his probation related to a battery case.

Just months after the poster was published, Yearwood made it his main picture on Facebook.

When Yearwood made the decision, a relative posted comment on his page that read, “I wish he would take it down too !! The cops use Facebook now !!.”

The fugitive’s time on the run concluded on Tuesday, the day after Stuart police in Palm Beach County responded to a battery allegation and began searching for Yearwood as the suspect.

Police collected evidence, trying to gather as much evidence as possible on the suspect, which is when they discovered his Facebook page, along with the Citrus County wanted poster.

Yearwood was apprehended on open warrants and a marijuana possession charge as well.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the battery complaint.
