A pursuit by New York City Police officers of a robbery suspect led them straight to the accidental discovery of several of 8ft high marijuana plants.

Officials said cops made the seizure of several towering plants from an apartment building in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York during the perp search.

According to the New York Daily News, officers jumped backyard fenced areas during their search for a male robbery suspect on Miller Ave near New Lots Ave around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Meanwhile, NYPD officials said officers nabbed the boisterous suspect hiding out in the home of a stranger.

“I came outside, and I saw one patrol car go down the street, in a couple of seconds, the entire street was full of police,” said 68-year-old Charles Angel.

“That’s a Christmas tree right there, Christmas came early this year,” another resident said.

Although details remain hazy, officials did indicate the robbery suspect had some sort of connection with the marijuana grow operation.
