‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe and fellow actor Zachary Quinto have joined the cast of the motion picture “We Do Not Forget,” which is an adaptation of the real-life events regarding the confrontation between the hacking group Anonymous and the brutal Mexican drug cartel known as Los Zetas.

According to Deadline, First Look Media company will finance this project which will feature the British actor and Quinto, who played Spock in the latest installment of “Star Trek”.

The story centers around a fictionalized account of the short-lived feud between the hacktivist group and Mexico’s largest, most technologically advanced, and most brutal criminal organization following the alleged kidnapping of a member of Anonymous.

Back in 2011, the hacktivist group announced an online campaign dubbed #OpCartel, which threatened to reveal the identities of members and associates of the Zetas after reportedly stumbling upon 25,000 hacked Mexican government emails containing a treasure trove of information on Los Zetas, including names of operatives.

However, the Zetas, known for its extreme violence, responded with its own threats by hiring top cyber security experts to track down the “hackers” and promising death to anyone whose identity they uncovered.

Subsequently, the cartel’s reaction made Anonymous think twice, who announced the cancellation of the operation against Los Zetas.

The abducted victim would eventually be released, though the Zetas reportedly didn’t realize who they had been holding hostage.

Screenwriter Zach Helm of the film “Stranger Than Fiction” (2006), will write and direct “We Do Not Forget.” Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”, 2001) will produce the film.

The roles of Quinto and Radcliffe remain undisclosed, and no further details of the movie have been released.
