Police in Georgia say the rapper known as Shawty Lo died in a horrific car crash shortly after leaving a strip club in Atlanta early Wednesday morning.

The fatal accident occurred around 2:20 am on the I-285 southbound Cascade Road exit ramp in South Fulton County.

The rapper’s brother announced Shawty Lo died at the scene when the Audi he was driving lost control, ejecting him from the vehicle.

Police further elaborated saying the rapper’s car hit a guardrail and crashed into two trees before bursting into flames.

Officials said emergency responders also took two other people in the car to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators initially suspected the accident was a hit and run. However, officers arrived on the scene to discover only one vehicle involved.

‘It has been confirmed now that it was a single car accident,’ Fulton police spokeswoman Cpl. Maureen Smith said.

According to gossip website TMZ, Shawty Lo posted videos of himself partying at an Atlanta strip club just hours before his death.
