The feds are now reportedly investigating allegations against Brad Pitt regarding an incident that possibly involved child abuse.

An LAPD spokesperson told Fox News in an interview: “There was an incident that occurred on [a] plane and the FBI is currently handling it. We’re not handling any investigation into this incident…[with] Brad Pitt.” The spokesperson further noted that because the alleged conflict happened on an airplane, the investigation is out of their jurisdiction, which places it in the hands of the FBI.

Fox News also revealed that federal sources claim that they were assigned a case in regards to Pitt and his six children.

They have not ascertained whether there is any truth to the allegations but are favoring towards transferring the case back to Child Protective Services where a case is already open. However, this does not necessarily indicate that any laws were violated, but if there was was, the jurisdiction very likely would not remain with the FBI, but instead would be transferred back to local law enforcement officials.

In response to a request for a statement, the LA County Department of Child and Family Services stated that they are legally forbidden from discussing whether or not someone is under investigation.

According to TMZ, an investigation was initiated after an anonymous tip was called in to report a disturbance that took place on September 14th, where Brad Pitt purportedly got “physical” and “verbally abusive” with one of his kids on the couple’s private jet as they were flying to the U.S. from France.

People stated that Jolie and their additional five children were present at the time of the disturbance.

A source reported to TMZ that the famous actor has been questioned by investigators and is taking “the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children.” The source continued, “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, indicating irreconcilable differences.

The A-list actress is requesting physical custody of their six children, with only visitation rights reserved for Pitt.

Pitt published a statement to People magazine which stated: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Jolie’s attorney, Robert Offer, told the Associated Press on Tuesday that her choice to file for divorce was made “for the health of the family.”

Their children are 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The power couple has been an item for 12 years and married in August 2014.

It was 52-year-old Pitt’s second marriage, who was previously married to actress Jennifer Aniston, and it was the third for 41-year-old Jolie-Pitt, who was previously married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

The couple infamously got together on the set of their hit movie “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” while Pitt was still married to Aniston.
