A group of armed men arrived at a gas station in the rural village of Llera where they removed the gasoline pump and began spraying fuel around the property.

The brazen incident is just the latest example of an area where cartel members continue to extort money from local business owners, driving them to the point of running them out of town, according to Breitbart Texas.

The footage soon spread to several citizen journalists throughout the state after law enforcement officials seemed to have ignored the incident and remained largely silent regarding the out-of-control turmoil taking over the region as a result of a fractured within the Los Zetas criminal organization.

The vicious fighting between the two groups, which initially began Ciudad Victoria, but has since spread to other cities including the border city of Nuevo Laredo, has led to a dramatic surge in violence that has continued to generate terror throughout the northern border regions.

Drive-by shootings, beheadings, kidnappings, dismemberments, and large scale gunfights have become an almost daily occurrence as a result of the war within Mexico’s most violent cartel .
